  • Here is one of my favorite Genesis games of all time. If anyone was a Sega fan back then, they probably owned this game.

The story is about Dr. Robotnik capturing all of Sonic’s little friends and turning them to robots. He plans to capture all seven of the chaos emeralds. So Sonic, and his pal Miles “Tails” Prower, goes after them before Robotnik does.

The graphics were amazing back then. When I first saw these, I was basically drooling. All I had before the genesis was a NES, so seeing 16 bit graphics for the first time made my day! There was a lot of detailing in the backgrounds, but the problem is that Sonic runs too fast to notice them.

The music is VERY catchy. Even to this day I can remember fully a lot of the songs, like the boss battle music. The music was short and repetitive, but it seemed like one long song throughout your minutes worth of running through the level.

This game, is easy-easy moderate. You can expect about 5 or less hours working on this game. Also since there are no save points, a game over will basically make you go in a crazy lunatic. Who wants to spend another couple hours after losing his or her last life on the final boss!

There is multiplayer for people to enjoy. One mode is basically one player mode, but someone can control the helpless, always behind Tails. Then there’s the competition mode where you and a friend run through the Chaos Emerald tube stages. It’s pretty fun for awhile.

If you like the old Sonic games, then you will probably want this or already own it. Also for all three next gen consoles, are the remakes of the games. They contain all of the old Genesis Sonic games and more. So if you don’t own a Genesis, then buy the remakes for your Xbox, PS2, or Game Cube.
