    2. Most companies plan to sell more "Pro" kits and less "Base" kits, and their purchasing proves it.

Though some pretty kickass channels, I have aquired Gametrash.com a diamond in the rough:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    http://gametrash.com/dotm/X360_BBLaunchAllocations.htm

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The official Best Buy XBOX 360 Launch Day allocations. For those of you who can't even figure out what that means, it's the stock in each Best Buy store. Let's look at some figures:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Pro Core Total
    Total Units: 31,004 9,886 40,886
    Percentage: 75.8% 24.2% 100%

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, let's look at the grand scheme of things for a second. Best Buy is estimating that almost exactly 75% of the market will purchase the "Pro" console. Not very pro when everyone has it, isnt it? In any case, they've left barely under 25% of all purchases to the Core systems.

Wow, this is completely different than expected, huh? Wasnt the Core system supposed to be the everyman system, the cheap system? And there's going to be a shade under 10,000 of them in the United States, so far as Best Buy goes.

This backs up almost every negative comment that has been made about the XBOX 360's selling plan. The lack of a hard drive or wireless controllers has left the Core system to be the retarded redheaded stepchild of the Pro system, and it's obvious very few people are going to purchase it.

Now, let's consider right now the current costs of the systems. The original, old-fashioned prices for the XBOX 360 systems were approximately $350 and $450, respectively. Now, looking at Amazon, EBGames, and Gamestop, even getting your hands on a PREORDER is hard enough. The ONLY way to purchase the console now is via a lot of smaller dealers, which some are charging as much as $50 extra. PLUS, crazy-ass companies like Gamestop are selling "Ultimate Packs" for $2000. Good god.

Oh yeah, and you guys from Georgia and Texas can have little parties now that you made the top two spending states for Best Buy's 360 plan. Evidently, you guys are hard core gamers. Or something.

So, at the end of the day, what does this mean? Easy. If anyone remembers what stores were like during the PS2 release, I would sincerely reccomend you take an armored tank to get your system. A gun. SOMETHING. This is going to be freaking big.
