3. PS3 Concept Designs on the Internet
Yeah, this was probably the most realistic of all the rumors on here. When Sony announced the PS3, everyone went haywire trying to get the valued designs for it. Of course, when someone broke into Sony and looked through their directory, they must have looked everywhere but their "Spiderman ripoff fride looking" design section. So, we got many lovely pictures, from some halfassed Walkman looking thing to something designed around what the PSP looked like.
Actually, some of them I liked better than the current in-design PS3, but....
VERDICT: Fake, but man, I wish they were real.
2. Save Aeris from Death? (Final Fantasy 7)
If you want to hit a sore spot with me or any big Final Fantasy fan, you need to say two words: AERIS DIES.
That's all. That will invoke one of three responses with geeks. They will either:
- Get mad
- Cry
- Get mad AND cry
The suprise in Final Fantasy 7 was not pretty. It made hundreds of gamers mad as they slowly watched their little in-game crush be stabbed like they stab their steak at dinner. About a hundred or so wrote into Squaresoft with complaints. Half of the audience died. It was like a god damn funeral for a pop star. Most of the time, playing Aeris' theme will invoke deep memories from the Final Fantasy group.
Whoa, sorry, I was about to shed a tear for a second there.
Anyway, naturally, some asshat made a rumor that yes, you can save Aeris, along with playing Sephiroth, and the like. This set people into a frenzy, eventually finding out they got pranked.
VERDICT: Fake, fake, fake. The closest thing you could get to this was that there was a dev room if you hacked the game, and you could somehow splice Aeris back into your team. Buuut, she dissapears in cut scenes, you get the idea. Just a hack.
