The 10 Biggest Rumors of Gaming

Yeah, we've all been a fool of some joke at one point or time. Sometimes, our biggest hopes and dreams come to us in the sense of Video Game Rumors- things that people on the old Interbutt say that are about as real as a hairpiece. So, here they are- the top 10 video game rumors of all time.

10. Poison in my Playstation!



Yep, this has gone around like hotcakes in some of the wierder markets: That the PS1/PS2 console power cables have poison in them, and that in many cases and many markets (If I'm not mistaken, one example is Australia), the cables were recalled and replaced.

VERDICT: Somewhat true. This has not been denied or confirmed by Sony, and in their magazine, they somewhat belew it off. However, somewhat useless. Are you gonna chew on your power cable any time soon?

9. Final Fantasy 7-2 (Final Fantasy 7)



I admit, this rumor makes me happy in my pants. What would happen if the original developers of Final Fantasy 7 re-did it?

In full, new 3D, the same 3D in Final Fantasy 7: Advent Childeren?

On the PS3?

We're talking ORGASMIC gaming here. Stuff you can't beat with a stick. Originally, this started as a quazi-april fools joke started by a popular gaming magazine (Making fun of Final Fantasy X-2), and then grew to be much more.

VERDICT: Oooh, guess what rabid fanboys? This might be happening behind closed doors. While Squaresoft is not officially working on this project, many interviews have led to many shady comments. So, as far as we know, it's very possible. To quote a Squaresoft Employee, "We couldn't go wrong [with a FF7 remake]". Coincidence? I think not. It may be entirely possible that Squaresoft makes this game BECAUSE of the rumors.

As well, I'd like to note that while this is not an explicit reason to get the PS3, the discussion is about putting it ON The PS3, so if you're looking into possibilities for consoles, keep that in mind.

8. Nico (Nii-Ico, Ico II)



Ico, like Katamari Damacy, hit people like a land slide. What in the hell was it? All we knew was, it was funner than crap. The game was simple: You guided a princess out of a large area. No, I'm serious. There wasn't heavy graphics, there was not heavy dialogue, just pure, refreshing fun. You WANTED to play this game- everything about it just seemed so strangely rounded off. It was wonderful, and was a smash hit, now being almost impossible to get on even the Internet.

VERDICT: Yep, Nico does exist... in "Shadow of the Colossus". The creator of both of them did legitimately call SotC "Nico". So, all you Ico fans, look forward to it!
