Ok, I've had it up to here with these freakin' new systems. Yes, new systems are nice. Heck I'll probably get one of them just because all the new games will come out for one. However, I really hate the people that are focused on ONE system and then they worship that ONE system as their deity.
I've been in school, on the forums, even on Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (I have a review on the Review Archives, I still play it), everyone is totally spazzing out about the new systems. Now my school is a HUGE Xbox population. If they let us have a casual dresscode, 3/4 of the school would be wearing a shirt with:
1: A Big X
2: An Even Bigger X
3: A Picture of Master Chief
4: "Pwn3d By Xbox"
5: A Big Godd*** X
Now, you can like a system and that's allright. I like the PS2, but I don't go everywhere talking about the PS2, ranting and raving and going on endless speeches about how the PS2 is far superior to all existing console systems. It's a great system don't get me wrong, but sometimes I play my Gamecube. My cousin has an Xbox and I play Halo there. I like all the systems, one obviously better than others but not to the point of turning into a fanboy.
EVERYONE at my school comes up to me and goes "Have you seen the new Xbox 360, it's freakin' sweet." At this point I'm okay. I'm fine. I'm not angry. Until he starts going on and on. Then I'm like "Yea the PS3 looks pretty cool too." This kid FREAKS out and calls me an idiot going "The Sony Products Suck, Name ONE good game for the PS2."
At this point I name about 5 games:
1. Katamari Damacy
2. Devil May Cry 3
3. Guitar Freaks 3rd and Fourth Mix
4. XenoSaga (I LIKE THE GAME DEAL WITH IT KIRK AND MIKE)
5. Ratchet and Clank Series (They were pretty good games)
He calls all of those games gay, except for Katamari Damacy because he had no idea what the hell I said anyway. Anyway he goes "The Xbox 360 is super powerful." Well so is the PS3. In fact, when they presented the PS3 they went down in a list how it's a lot more powerful than the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 is basically a mini computer, filled with chips. While the PS3 apparently, according to what I have heard correct me if I'm wrong, works on some revolutionary chip system. It's like one super chip in there or something like that. The details were vague to me and I'll look it up later so yea.
Now I sound like a PS3 fanboy. Trust me I'm not. I've had to deal with my fair share of PS3 fanboys, and I've had to debunk their theories too. I like all the new systems, except the Xbox 360, so basically the NR and the PS3 is something I'll look into. I haven't heard much about the NR, and people are already ripping it up. I wanna look at the game libraries of ALL these new systems, that's about it.
