Good Lord 4: Love Hina GBC

OK, let me get this off my chest of a second. To be 100% honest, I love Anime to death. For one thing, it's free as in free in beer, as long as you're downloading it before it's licenced in the US. Secondly, it's fun to watch, because not only do I get to maniacally laugh at the attempts of the attempts of Japan to make a "Normal" series, but it also helps my foreign language credit in school, ironically Japanese.

Now, let's get down to the truth again and say I love the series "Love Hina". I've been watching Love Hina ever since it was a s***ty overly-DivXed AVI available on IRC and some generous people on Kazaa (Then, Kazaa didnt suck ass). I've been watching Love Hina since then, and naturally I have an attachment to it because of that. And I definately can't pass up the chance to go play a video game with the Love Hina Characters in it. Just freaking awesome.



First of all, this is not to be compared with the Game Boy Advance or PC Love Hina games, mainly because this game is like a game I previously reviewed, Beatmania for the Game Boy. This game definately feels like it doesnt belong on the system it's on, and it shows easily, because some obvious quality touches were reduced for the color range restriction on the Game Boy Color.

OK, this is just like any other Dating Simulation I've ever played. Talk to chicks.



Well, or is it? First thing you'll notice is the wierd little smilies in the corner. Yes, this game actually has a smiley system in it. Right now, in the picture above, it's at
"^\/^". Believe it or not, depending on the emotion of the girl you're talking to, it will actually change emotions- and, yes, everything is the stereotypical "^^", unless you've pissed them off. For example, I've apparently pissed off Naru:



etc etc etc. You get the idea. This is like one hell of a bastardized Dating Sim engine, except this time I don't have to worry about their real love for me, I guess I'm just "In" already. Screw it, realistically these girls could hate me, but according to this game I'm in their hearts.. or something. I'm not sure exactly what's going on. So what the hell IS this game?
