Gaming LCD? No way.
I've decided to do a quick review on my Hyundai L90D+ as a follow-up to the BUGS about LCD Monitors. Being as 99.9% of the gaming community is convinced that CRT > LCD, I've decided to give my opinion on the subject by showing my "Flagship Monitor"- the L90D+.
The Hyundai L90D+ is one of the, if not THE, fastest LCD monitor on the market, at least refresh rate wise. It clocks in at 8ms, which is easily relatable to a CRT's refresh rate in Hertz. This obviously means that games like Quake and Doom 3 can be played relatively easy without having to worry about such alterior things like screen blur. Lets face it. We all love the LCD deep down in our little hearts. The sleek flatness of it is obviously a nicer addition than CRT. However, its obvious that LCD hasnt reached full potential yet, which is pretty much why gamers tend to trust CRTs. After all, it seems like a big, bulky CRT is going to "Hold up" better than an LCD, which is pretty much true. I'd include pictures, but I really cannot adequately display the quality of a monitor in screenshots (Duh). The monitor displays every color beautifully, and even 100% black looks 100% black, instead of some form of gray tone. In games like Far Cry, this is most shown, as each color is as vibrant as the next. As for more technical things, I havent experienced a dead pixel or generic issue yet. I'm not too happy with the stand that came with it (A little too flimsy), but that's not such an issue to me. Overall, I give this monitor one mushroom. I'd give it a perfect, but I have two issues: 1. The stand is flimsy, and 2. Its 19", but I'd like to see a 20"+ 1600x1200 version available. I recommend this over any other LCD monitor I've seen. Go for it.
