Metroid Prime 2: Echoes(GCN) (T) (Shooter) |

Better and harder than the first.
If any of you have ever played the first Metroid Prime you'll be familiar with this game. It's good to have played the first one so you get a feel for the controls and what not. That's my opinion. You might not have to if you are as good a gamer as some people.
Now in Metroid Prime 2 Echoes, you go to a planet torn between light and darkness. This story may seem old and overused, but it still delivers. As you go to this planet, you find everyone on it dead and once going in further, something dark and mysterious possesses the bodies and they start attacking you as ZOMBIES! The game isn't ABOUT zombies, but there are zombies in the beginning. Anyway going even FURTHER, you see a dark version of you (Dark Samus). Since you have landed on the planet, a dark copy of you is now there and it can freely move between the dark and light world. ![]() As you go farther into the game you gain free access to the dark world and get different suits, which look very stylish I might add. In the dark world, the air is poison and in the default suit you will die very quickly if you go into it without being protected by light crystals. Light crystals are basically light crystals everywhere in the dark world that when inside it's light 'bubble' you will not lose health, but instead gain health. The controls in this game are good, easily accessible. Though to survive tough buttles you have to know how to use them well. Timing is everything in this game, so if you have slow reflexes you may have SOME trouble with this game. However, they haven't made that a huge problem so bad reflex people should get through the game. That is to say until the end, but I'm not giving away anything. ![]() The graphics in this game aren't amazing, but they are very good. It's not blocky or pointy, but smooth and crisp and delicious and scrumptious and awesome and scrumptrulescent. I was very pleased with the work they did on the game. The storyline as I said is a bit overused, but the way it is portrayed and delivered didn't make me complain. I give this game 4 stars. It's a great game to play, and it even has up to 4-player multiplayer action. However, the multiplayer could be a little better. It's only fun if you have 3 people or more, otherwise it's just worthless and not very fun.
