A remake from the SNES to the GBA![]() Super Mario Advance 2 is a remake of Super Mario World for the GBA. Just about everything is the same with a few new features. All the greatness of the game is still there. If you liked the original, then you will like this version. EVERYONE must know the story by now! Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach, Mario goes on an adventure, defeats Bowser, and gets Peach back. It’s as simple as that. If you didn’t know what it was about, then please get off the Internet and go cry yourself to sleep. The graphics are the same as the SNES version. 16 bit characters, backgrounds, and enemies. Mario still looks the same; Peach looks the same, yet Luigi had an update in looks. No more does he look just like Mario except green. He is now taller and skinnier. If you bothered and completed every level, a bunch of the graphics will change. Colors changed, Koopas will be given Mario masks, and goombas will have sunglasses. ![]() Gameplay is still the same as the SNES version. A to jump and B to run. Simple as that. The feather and fire flowers are still here. Also the mushrooms are back. Something I still have a complaint is how easy it is to get 1up mushrooms. I can get about 100 within 20 minutes. You can complete the game probably in a day’s worth of play. Yet if you were like me, you passed through every level and was rewarded game changes mentioned earlier. Music and sound are the same. You get all the catchy tunes and sound effects we all have come to love. None of the music or sound has changed. I’m going to say this now like I said before, it is hard to talk about music in written words. So I am going to end this section with Mario music owns. ![]() One major thing that has been added is the old Mario Brothers arcade game. You work in the sewers and jump under enemies to knock them out. After that you jump on them to kill them. Simple game but you might find yourself playing the game for a long time to see if there is an end or what happens after you get so far! If you like Super Mario World for the SNES, then pick this up for the GBA. It’s easy to play, not much to learn, and you don’t need to spend 30 hours to beat it.
