Megaman: Battle Network(XBOX 360) (E) (Action) |

Megaman gone annoying.
If any of you are old school gamers, you'll of course remember the likes of Megaman and his platforming goodness. The original megamans, the one where he had basically no knees, were crazy hard and took many painstaking hours to complete. I personally have never beaten any of the original Megamans because I'm lazy and I need some sort of Gaming Anger Management. However, this review isnt to talk about the old school megamans.
Megaman Battle Network is a game I got a long time ago when I first got my Gameboy Advance (Not the SP, the original Gameboy Advance) and the only reason I got it was because it was a megaman game. I thought it was a platformer, but I was wrong. Waaaaay wrong. This is as far from a platformer as one can get. ![]() In Megaman Battle Network, there are two main characters. One being Megaman and the other being Lan (Not LAN, Lan. However I think his name is purposely Lan cause this whole game is super based on the web). Lan is a young boy with a thing called a PET (Again, not a pet, a PET. PEE-EEE-TEE) which contains a Navi. A Navi for example is Megaman. Lan can jack in (Yes I know, stop being a weirdo) to electronic places that have a port for it and Megaman can go inside that product. Basically in this game you go around the net stopping this deadly organization called the WWW (Possibly Wily's Willy Wonkas?) from taking over the earth by spreading viruses throughout the net and disrupting everyday life. As everything apparently is RUN by the Net, the WWW constantly gets into government places and disrupts life blahblahblah. Basically Lan feels like he and Megaman gotta be the hero, so you go and delete these viruses. ![]() When travelling inside the net you can come across an enemy (random enemy encounter) and then you go into the battle system. The battle system has you giving chips to megaman so he can use them. If you were to put in a cannon chip, Megaman can use a one-time only for that battle cannon. Then there's always the secondary buster gun which does a lot of damage depending on how you upgrade it. If you get PowerUPs, you can decide how you wanna make megaman better. This kind of reminds me of Megaman Legends, however Megaman Legends had it so certain items were only for certain parts I believe. The music in this game is okay. While some songs get annoying, particularly the being inside a building when its very happy out song, I rarely ever listen to them too much unless I'm lost and don't know where to go. The controls in this game are easy to learn, however the battle system can get annoying if you wanna manuever. The controls aren't the problem, the problem is that sometimes viruses get paired up with very hard viruses. It's very hard to try and kill one virus, when another one is shooting at you (This is mostly when you're very far into the game. As a lot of viruses attacks almost take up your whole field). You have to be quick, and be a keen observer. The graphics in this game are okay. They do justice to the game and there isn't really many flaws with them either. Basically this game gets me angry but I still play it. Reasons I don't like it: Virus Match Ups are unfair at times to the point that a virus can kill you in one hit. Music can get annoying. I wanted a platformer. The redundant names like 'Lan' and 'WWW' and 'Mayl (Mail)'. Reasons I do like it: It can be fun at times. The plot isn't awful. Cause I really wanna beat impossible virus match ups.
