Marvel vs Capcom 2(Other) (T) (Fighter) |

An awesome game.
Personally I've always loved the concept of Marvel vs Capcom. Taking the characters from classic Capcom games (Street Fighter, Dark Stalkers etc). and the Marvel comic book series (X-Men, Spider-Man, etc.) made me very happy. I can have Wolverine and Ryu on the same team, which in the end makes me a happy child.
Basically in this game, I'm not sure what the story involved is because it's like most other fighting games where the story is in the instruction manual which I never read, you can be any character that they hand to you from classic Capcom and Marvel games. Then you pick a team of 3 and fight most of the other characters (There are about 30+ characters and 7 stages where you fight 3 each stage, so you won't fight all the characters in one Arcade Mode) until you fight the last boss, some creature named Abyss. I'm guessing he's trying to blow up the world, so you have to kill him and you beat Arcade Mode! Simple as that. ![]() Characters include but aren't limited to: Wolverine, Rogue, Gambit, Megaman, Roll, Ryu, Chun-Li, Zangief, Hayato, Spider-Man, Venom and much much more. The graphics in this game are pretty simple. They're cartoon colors, but very crisp and nice colors as opposed to the Street Fighter games which felt almost too detailed. In the background I believe there is some 3D, but the background is only something you look at before and after the match starts/ends. The music in this game is pretty good too. When a match starts, whoever is on the fighting field there is a certain theme that person has. When that person dies and the next character flies in, a new music starts. The music is varied that way so it isn't one annoying song throughout the whole 3 character battle which, depending on your opponent, can last quite a bit of time. ![]() The sound is pretty good too. Each character has their own individual voice and each attack relatively has a different sound. Of course the punch sound and stuff doesn't change, but the Haduken and other Projectile attacks have different sounds most of the time. The controls are pretty basic. If you've played any Street Fighter games, the moves for Ryu are most of the moves for the rest of the character. Down+right punch does an attack. Dragon Punch does uppercut attacks, it's all pretty simple. Though some people don't have those simple moves. Some people have actual moves that require a lot of experimenting to find out. ![]() This game can get pretty fast. If the computer is hard, they do a lot of air combos and there's no way to get out of one. Jill from Resident Evil especially has some crazy Air Combos. Overall this game gets a perfect. It's a very good game, and even better if you have a friend with you to play with.
