Scarface: The World is Yours is an upcoming video game being developed by Radical Entertainment and being published by Vivendi Universal Games. The game is based on and is a quasi-sequel to the 1983 motion picture Scarface starring Al Pacino as Tony Montana, the main protagonist of the film. It's currently scheduled to be released on the Microsoft Xbox during the third quarter of 2006, followed by the PC and Sony PlayStation 2 in the fourth quarter, and the Sony PlayStation 3 release date is to be announced. Several websites, however, have the PC, Xbox, and PS2 versions listed as being released on September 1st. The World is Yours was originally scheduled to be released on the Microsoft Xbox 360, but Radical Entertainment has apparently cancelled the Xbox 360 version according to IGN's game details though some sites still list the title as being released during the fourth quarter.
The video game isn't a full adaptation of the movie itself. Instead, Tony Montana manages to shoot his way out of his mansion and escapes. The rest of the story focuses on Tony's attempt to rebuild his cocaine empire.
The gameplay is thought to be similar to the 3D Grand Theft Auto games. The film itself was previously referenced in Grand Theft Auto III, which used the Scarface soundtrack as an in-game radio station, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City which borrowed much of the plot of the film.
