As in Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, the gameplay here is very different from your standard music game -- in DK Bongo Blast, you are racing other DK characters and Kremlings through 3D worlds, riding on top of rocket-powered bongo Barrel Jets. You beat the bongos to control the character, playing with rhythm and speed to control your jets as your characters swoop, bank, and roll through the game. Each character can also launch attacks at each other, still using the bongos. You can, of course, use a regular GameCube pad to play, but the fun really takes off when you have up to four players banging away on bongos as they race around. Multiplayer mode sounds to be partly an action-battle event more than a racing game, as you all will be competing to take out Kremlings in five game worlds. Paon, the creator of DK: King of Swing for GBA and DS, is handling the creation of this Cube game.
