Guitar Hero II is an upcoming sequel to the original Guitar Hero video game and is being released for the Sony PlayStation 2 video game console.[1]

Guitar Hero II, in addition to 55 new songs, 40 of them licensed, will also feature a new practice mode, and a new multiplayer mode where two players can play simultaneously--on different difficulties, if they choose--while playing either lead, rhythm or bass guitar. Developers have also confirmed that the Gibson SG controller featured in the first game will be compatible with Guitar Hero II.[2] Guitar Hero II is scheduled to be released in November of 2006
