Three years ago James Sunderland's wife Mary passed away from a terminal disease. James, still grief-stricken from the loss, receives a letter from his late wife asking him to meet her at their "special place" somewhere in Silent Hill. James is afraid and confused. Out of curiosity and the hope that somehow he can meet Mary and be with her again, he sets off for Silent Hill.
