Chrono Cross is a PlayStation RPG created by Square Co., Ltd. (now Square Enix) with a story that builds upon Chrono Trigger. However, Chrono Trigger team members Hironobu Sakaguchi (Supervisor), Yuji Horii (Supervisor, Initial Scenario Writer), and Akira Toriyama (Character Design) were not a part of the Chrono Cross development team, and their absence is very noticable. Indeed, few of the original staff participated on the game as they had been reassigned to different teams over the years.
