Disaster: Day of Crisis
Something rather unique, Disaster is all about surviving huge natural disasters, and while we only saw a few frames of it, it appeared to be quite a bit like the PS2 game Disaster Report.
Hyper Sonic
Made by Sega, the whole speed aspect of the famous Sonic series is now on the Wii, allowing you to control all aspects of Sonic via the Wii remote. Hyper as always, it almost gave me a headache, but it looked to be the most original Sonic game... well, ever.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
While this was only an FMV, it appears to be yet again about teamwork and the unique Chibi universe of Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles.
Madden Football 2007
While absolutely nothing was actually shown, Madden 07 will apparently allow you to throw, pass, block, and just about anything else- all with the Wii remote.
Tony Hawks Downhill Jam
Yet again not featuring a video, THDJ will apparently allow you to balance the Wii remote to keep grinding, tricking, and everything else you punks do.
Rayman 4
All I found about this was the ability to swing Rayman's hands using the Wii remote. That's it. Hmm.
Spongebob Squarepants: Creature from the Krusty Krab
Don't ask me, it's just supposed to have a makeover for the Wii.
Red Steel
Complete with happy-looking French man with a heavy accent, we finally got to see a Red Steel video. Using the Nunchuck controller, Red Steel is quite a bit like the Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess in the sense that the controls are based around an almost FPS feel (But in this case, it IS an FPS) and the gun control is top notch. However, one disappointing thing I noticed was the sword control, which seemed rather rudimentary compared to how great the shooting looked.
In Closing
With some really cool showings, and even a part where Miyamoto came on stage and tried to play Tennis (Which, was hilarious, seeing an old Japanese man running around in jeans leaping and attempting to hit the ball on screen), Nintendo had a lot going for themselves at this year's press conference. Closing with the main heads of Nintendo actually playing a game, live, with a contest winner, I was intrigued. Personally, I can't wait to have a Wii in my hands.
