Now we get the super-fun super-cool part where I have to input my name. Being as I had no clue this was a game aimed at girls, I entered in "Urashima Keitaro" (Bonus points for anyone who recognizes that name). Two seconds later, I was greeted with...
Last Name? First name? What the? So I had to go back and put "Urashima" in one, "Keitaro" in another. Annoying as hell, though I suspect that Japanese people struggle with the same thing with our games. About 30 minutes later, trying desperately to figure out what the hell was going on (Not only did it take me through Family and Given names, it took me through such fun commodities as the "Multiple dates you enter in not knowing that you're making your character 80 years old".
Finally. After giving what I THOUGHT was a guy a family name, given name, and birthdate (And a few other things which I have no clue what they were), I finally got to this. I guess its a comfirmation page. And then it hit me: THIS IS A FREAKING GIRL'S GAME Greeat. Now I just found out that I've been playing a game to make boyfriendless japanese schoolgirls feel like they have a boyfriend. I mean, you've probably got some hardcore Otaku watching this, but who would admit it? In any case, lets look at our potential boyfriends. Being as in a typical dating sim you get your generic girls (The outgoing, the loner, the robot, the angel, the loli, the older woman, the megane girl and the childhood friend), I suppose this is somewhat the same. Then again, I'm not willing to translate it. So make your own assumptions.
I'm not even going to try to guess which is which. I'm just going to skip through this. Generally, dating simulations give you some option to do so, but I found none. Thats what you get for playing a SNES game, I guess.
