Psychonauts(XBOX) (T) (Adventure) |

Four years and delays, we finally get it![]() Psychonauts is a decent adventure game for the Xbox. If you can recall, this game has been delayed for the past three to four years. Started out being published by Microsoft, then they dropped it, then Majesco picked it up. I think it was suppose to come out in 2003, so the graphics will be outdated. The story is about this kid name Raz (is full name is Rasputan but I don’t know if that’s how its spelled.) He goes to this camp to become a Psychonaut. He then gets accepted to go into special training. Eventually he finds out that everyone’s brains are being taken and used to control this tank. This is where I let you figure out the rest. ![]() The graphics are outdated, but I won’t give it a harsh time because this was supposed to come out around 2003. The characters look weird and messed up, which goes out to the humor side of the game. The sound for this game is a little outdated too, but still has a good quality. The voice acting is probably the high point of this game. You hear lines like “What can I say and still look cool. Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can…never hurt me?” Another example is “The milk isn’t ready yet, and you’re not ready for the milk!” The humor is more of a laugh to yourself but not extremely funny. ![]() The controls are another good side to this game. When I first started playing it and was learning the controls, it looked pretty confusing. Two minutes later I had it handled. You mostly control with the two control sticks, right trigger, the black and white buttons, and the A button. Everything else is seldom used. A major thing I have to point out is some of the glitches and messed up programming. There are benches at the main campsite, so I tried to stand on it. It was wide enough to stand on but it forces you to grind. Other places you try to get to force you to grind again and again. Another time is when I lost to this fighting match and was thrown out of a picture (it’ll explain itself if you play the game) and I was pushed under it. Leaving me either do nothing or turning off the game. This game to me is more of a rental, beat it, then return it. If you really like the game then go ahead and buy it. Also at the end of the game is a giant signal for a sequel. I doubt they will make it considering all the hell they went to get this one out, but you never know.
