Nintendo announces two new Wii titles at LeipzigAs excitement builds over the pending release of the highly innovative Wii, Nintendo added even more fuel to fire by announcing two new Wii titles at the Leipzig Games Convention. European attendees were treated to the global premier of two brand-new first-party Wii titles, Mario Strikers Charged and Battalion Wars II.Mario Strikers Charged A super-charged sequel to Super Mario Strikers, Mario Strikers Charged allows players to use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk Controller to strip the ball, score unstoppable goals and take control of the goalkeeper to perform spectacular saves. Mario is joined by other famous Nintendo characters who take on the role of captains in the game. Each captain has his or her own set of skills and super abilities as well as the ability to perform special shots called Mega Strikes, where the iron ball splits up into five balls which rocket toward the goal. The defending player must use the Wii Remote to aim and shoot these balls out of the air before they reach the goal. Players can also charge the metal ball with energy, making it more likely to find its target when fired at the goal. Mario Strikers Charged will feature an action-packed multiplayer mode, and will also support the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service, allowing players to take part in tournaments with people from all around the world. Battalion Wars II Tricked into believing that the Solar Empire is developing a devastating super-weapon, Commander Pierce and Colonel Windsor of the Anglo Isles launch a pre-emptive strike on the Coral Atolls. The world is once again at war. In Battalion Wars II, players will drive tanks, command ships, pilot planes and direct troops into the heart of the action in the return of the popular tactical action game for Wii. New features include: ?Three online multiplayer modes: Assault, Skirmish and Co-op. ?Three theatres of war: land, sea and air. ?Five new naval units: Battleship, Frigate, Submarine, Dreadnought and Transport. ?Six different races, and five different environments. ?More than 20 single-player missions and over 15 multiplayer missions.
