The Godfather Collects Gold
It doesn't matter if you've never worn a sharp Italian tailored suit before; whether you've lovingly shaped gnocchi in your hands or snuffed a bad man in opaque cover of night; the mobster life, or rather a virtual version with controller attached, will soon open to you. Electronic Arts announced today that The Godfather is gold for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC and all set for its arrival next week. Based on Mario Puzo's epic novel and Francis Ford Coppola's classic film, The Godfather has players assuming the role of a small-fry mobster working his way up the family ranks in 1940s New York City. The player's story unfolds in parallel with key events from the film, and plays out in a large, open-ended game world. The game was developed at EA's Redwood Shores studio and represents Electronic Arts' entry into mature-themed gaming. The Godfather is set to arrive for Xbox 360 and PlayStation Portable later this year.
