Quake Con is the one time in the year people can drink a s*** load of Bawls and get away with it. It is a convention for things PC gaming and id software. They had booths, games, babes, games, Bawls, games, a couple computers (hundreds), did I mention games? Here is the following things I did on Friday and Saturday at Quake Con. The following pictures suck becuase my scanner sucks.
![]() First thing I did when I got there was go on a quest for free swag (there will be numerous things I did that I might recall as quests because I?m nerdy that way.) Walking around the different booths I obtained 5 shirts, a hat, about 8 Quake Con cups I took, a bracelet like the Livestrong one but with Intel on it, and stickers. The shirts are pretty good, except two which are too small. It claims its XL but its like a M around the waist. All the stickers I got was all put onto my trumpet case. The three stickers I was able to get was a Bawls sticker, Alienware, and a Dell sticker. Anyway enough with the swag crap, time for the part you want to hear! ![]() THE BOOTHS! Yea you know you want to know what was going on. They had booths from Quake 4 to sound cards. The first one I went to was a booth for some gaming mouses. They were really slick and easy to use. They felt good when controlling them and crap. Sadly I forgot the name of the company. To test the mouse, I played some Quake 3, which the mouse helped out my abilities. While I got a s*** load of frags, I didn?t notice the G4 cam behind me. So that gave me my less than a second airtime of TV. Next booth was of course Bawls. They had bawls for only a $1 a bottle than the usual $1.75 at stores. Also a box of 24 were only $20! They also had a new item called Sno Bawls. Think bawls in a slurpee form. One small cup of that is the equivelent of 1 bottle of bawls. I had about a giant cup of it at once. Later that day I checked out the Sound Cards booth. Listening to the difference between on board sound and sound card was pretty amazing. It was more lifelike. Also these new sound cards takes off some processor usage if you have it. Adding about 40% more framerate in you games. There was an Alien Ware booth but I didn?t care much because you couldn?t really do anything except watch laggy Doom 3 demos and stare at the case. The following is going to be one of the rare photos of me. ![]() Now I?ll talk about the games. Quake 4 kicks ass! All the goodness of Quake 3 with a better engine, graphics, and new weapons. Playing in a giant LAN game also owned. I?ll get a head shot and two computers down this guy yells ?FUCKING BULLSHIT!? Good times. Some other games there was Fable: The Lost Chapters (I think that?s the name.) Its basically an update to Fable. Same game, but with a major update in quests, enviroments, lands, and a new island to discover and explore (the first game took on a island if you didn?t know.) There was also Stubbs the Zombie from Wide Load games, which you didn?t know is made up of mostly ex Bungie members. Also was Flatout, World of Warcraft, and the Doom 3 expansion for the Xbox. I didn?t care much for the expansion that much, but what got me laughing was that the Xbox?s they used were all modded. ![]() Also there was of course Kevin P. from Attack of the Show and some cameras. Like I said earlier I was able to get on TV for split of a second. Also if I?m really lucky I?ll be on again tonight for another segment. It involves me drinking from Sac, the new competitor of Bawls. Just to freak the s*** out of you, its just how it sounds. The bottle is a model of a guys sack. About half of the people at Quake Con was laughing their asses off. Then another amazement was that a guy with Halo 2 Nightmare Armor was there, filling the Sac with Bawls. I?ll let this joke settle. So in the end Quake Con was hella fun. From games to caffeine, nothing can equal to its fun factor. Also if you don?t know, I got my Quake Con pass signed by Kevin P. |
