I've heard a lot of people going INSANE over these new handhelds. Some PSP Fans, some DS Fans. I personally like to stick to the old classic GBA. Why? Reasons will be stated below. Quite frankly, it's shown to be true that many of the older systems provide much funner games. The SNES console for example is a favorite by many people, despite the opinion of many GC/Xbox/PS2 Fanboys. This article is my overview of why I think the GBA is a lot better than the DS, PSP, or even the GameBoy ADVANCE SP.

The Nintendo DS has a chatting option on it. It's kind of pointless to get one though, as any Cell Phone can do this. Just like every other Nintendo system since and including the N64, there are a couple of original/okay games. Even if they are classic games, there's WarioWare: Touched, and WarioWare: Twisted, a lot of the WarioWare games are pretty good. Quite frankly, since the GBA SP, the Nintendo Handhelds went way downhill. The Regular GameBoy Advance worked fine. Yes, a backlight is a cool thing to have, but would you really want to sacrifice that blessed headphone jack. More people want to play their GBA without disturbing surrounding people, but still want to hear the sounds and music, so a headphone jack is a necessary. The GBA SP lets one play in the dark, and that's only good for nighttime drives when you're not the one driving. Otherwise, there is not much of a use for the backlight.

If all of these handhelds are gonna come down to what kind of cool gadgets they can attach to them, all of the handhelds will go downhill including the PSP. The PSP is nice because it's the first Sony Handheld Console, but the Game Library for BOTH the PSP and the DS are pretty dissapointing. The only thing that's nice about the PSP is that movies will be sold for it, but a portable DVD player can do that and it contains a bigger battery than a PSP. As far as I saw, the PSP and the DS's battery get drained very fast and requires constant recharges. The GBA SP was the start of this kind of battery, and quite frankly buying Two Double A Batteries is a lot better because AA batteries are handheld and one can replace the battery of their system. The rechargeable battery requires either a phone jack, or a car plug-in, extra money. So basically, the handhelds went downhill since the Gameboy Advance SP. The DS is just another example of trying to ooh and ahh the audience because it has two screens, when that only makes games more distracting and more frustrating. People are used to looking at one screen without the distraction of another screen. Games where both screens are used to their full effect are fine, but games where only one screen is used and the other one is used for a map, I personally rarely look at the map.

The GBA has a better game library then both of the new systems combined.
